Commenting on the shortage inventory people are saying: Is it safe to say that sticker price or “internet price” is the price I will absolutely be paying with no negotiating in this current market? In 12 more days I will have cash in hand to buy a truck (need, not want) and I will be able to pay the inflated price on a higher trim model but I really wasn’t planning on it. I’d settle for an older basic truck but its slim pickings for affordable ones.

2 months agoAnd this is exactly why I bought my new SUV (Ford Explorer ST) yesterday. This isn’t likely to get any better anytime sooner. The Pandemic accelerated changes that that have put chip manufacturing behind. There is simply not enough physical chip production capacity globally and that will not change anytime soon. Car manufacturers gave up capacity during COVID as they expected a significant drop in sales and impacts to production. That available capacity was snapped up and now they are getting back in line, but there is no capacity to catch-up the backlog, and maybe not even enough to just meet demand (don’t know…

There is so much confusion that people are just ridicules comments but has fact, the shortage still going If you need to get rid of your car now is the time.

1 month agoI recently bought a limited edition 2021 car that had a 7k dealer markup. I walked away from it letting them know that I couldn’t pay the extra markup but would be willing to pay MSRP because I wanted the car. It took about 3 hours and 3 walk always including the final one where we were already backing up out of the dealership. They gave me the car for the price I wanted…no markup. They did try to sneak in another 2k in the documents but I called them out on it and asked them for my paperwork so I could take it home with me and they took the 2k off. Stand your ground.
